The development of wind turbine generators (WTG) at Suzlon is driven through the close collaboration of groups in Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands and India. The overall responsibility for WTG design resides with the Product Development Division in Germany and Denmark, whilst the specific blade designs are in the responsibility of Suzlon Blade Technology B.V. , a 100% subsidiary of Suzlon located in Hengelo / NL .

The target of the development group is to provide high quality designs to our supply chain and our manufacturing units located in India, China and the USA. The WTG are optimised in terms of economic value to our customers, achieving lowest cost per unit of generated energy at highest levels of availability so the units will produce ecologically friendly power whenever the wind blows.

The Product Development Division has its headquarters in Hamburg, the majority of its workforce in Rostock and core activities in Berlin and Århus/DK. We cover a broad range of R&D disciplines - complete WTG simulation, dynamic and static loads calculations, hub, nacelle and tower design, development of the unique SUZLON FLEXISLIP SYSTEM and pitch and control systems. Additionally we have a core team of engineers which support validation of our prototypes in the field.
