Certification-Loads-Measurements
The segment "Systems Simulation" comprises the departments of Certification, Loads and Measurement, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Power Electronics and Technical Innovation.
Our Certification, Loads and Measurements department is responsible for all load calculations during the development process. This work requires a very close cooperation with our Design segment as well as the Control System and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) departments. Another main cooperation focus arises under the aspect of aerodynamics and blade development. As an interface to component developers and suppliers verified load specifications act for components like main bearing, blade bearing, yaw drives and tower foundation.
For the load calculation we have developed our own effective software tools and adjusted professional software for the calculation of the dynamical behaviour of multi-body structures (entire WTG) according to our needs. Dynamic drive train simulation is another major focus of this department. The work of the Certification, Loads and Measurements department is completed by the verification of theoretical calculations by measurements. These are carried out at several WTG, especially prototypes. The measurements are performed by sub-suppliers as well as by members of the Certification, Loads and Measurement team.
The accreditation of a WTG type of a certification authority usually starts with the presentation of the WTG concept and the behaviour of the WTG as well as its main components in specific, partly extreme load situations and fault settings. The accordant load reports in line with the regulations as well as the documents for the operating control and security system are issued by our department. We also create the load evaluation report, which stands at the end of a successful certification process.
